Historical Place-Terowong Komunis Weng

Malaysia is known for its historical values so much there are located all over the place in Malaysia  that makes Malaysia so unique. However, in all historical sites in Malaysia, I am interested in a historical landmark that I think need to be introduced to everyone and  that place  is Terowong Komunis Weng.

Terowong Komunis Weng is the only one tunnel that has been made  in Malaysia that been used by the communist. This  tunnel located in one historical district which is Baling, Kedah where is bordering  with one of district in Thailand which is Betong .This tunnel is same as the tunnel that has been made in Betong ,Thailand which is  Piyamit Tunnel. We can find this tunnel location in Google Maps by using the keyword  ‘Simpang Terowong Komunis Weng .The tunnel is built when Communists failed in an effort to do the first rebellion which is named as "the emergency”.

The sources said the tunnel is a tunnel that the most active used around the year  of 1948 to 1968. So the path is strategic makes Communist attracted to make this tunnel as an outpost of fort and and their refuge from attack during the era of Communist. This tunnel was the largest communist operations room during the era of Communist. The path of the tunnel is about two kilometers to get to the Thailand border. Findings like some carcasses aircraft ,helicopters and planes in the area around the tunnel reinforces evidence of the history of the tunnel.

As to give more understanding about this tunnel, I provide one video that about a television show is making a special documentary about the tunnel.
