Last Entry..hmm
This would be my last entry for the Critical Literacy subject. It is sad actually as I start to feel the happiness in writing entry on my blog. For my last entry, I would like to pose my hope and view for this subject. After about 4 months learnt this subject, I can’t deny that it is so hard for me as I have to deal with lots of reading especially a journal or academic essay as we know that it has lots of pages. I still remember when we need to do the first assignment which it is the first time I have to deal with the article and author. In Critical Literacy, I learnt that we can’t simply say on something only in our opinion. It should be proved by any source such as a survey conduct by any university to make the statement is reliable. In this subject, I also learnt how to difference facts and opinions.
In my point of view, this subject shouldn’t be teach in a mass lecture. As this is a subject with no final examination, we need more focus by lecturer. But how can we get attention by the lecturer if there are lots of students to be handled. Plus, the students make noise at the back that disturbs the students who wants to learn.
In addition, I think, the lecturers have to discuss again about the assignment. I do think that we need to minimize the assignment. The writing assignment is important but I think the lecturer need to minimize it as time constrain.
As conclusion, that’s all my point of view. I hope I can perform well in this subject and could apply in real what I have been taught and I want to say thank you to my beloved lecturer as with my lecturer that well-experienced in this subject, I can easily understand all the chapters eventhought have several chapter a little bit hard but my lecturer explained it very well untill it becomes a bit easier.

Vaccine refusal by parents???
Recently, we have a major issue that have been a serious topic to discuss everyday and the issue is about the parents refuse to give permission on their children vaccination. This is so hard to accept that nowadays parents refuse the things that give benefits for their children. What is the reason of this issue? How parents can make this decision? So, I think I can provide some reasons for this issue.
One of the common reason that parents give for refusing or delaying vaccinating their children is personal or philosophical reasons. Although only a handful of states allow exemptions for this cause, it must be carefully studied, as it may present opportunities for practitioners to enlighten parents regarding the urgency of protecting the children through preventive measures. Though it seems contrary to human intuition, there is a group of people who see some benefit in having their children contract certain preventable diseases.8 Some parents believe that natural immunity is better for their children than is immunity acquired through vaccinations.8 Others express the belief that if their child contracts a preventable disease, it will be beneficial for the child in the long term, as it will help make the child's immune system stronger as he grows into adulthood.8–10 Some parents believe that the diseases for which we vaccinate are not very prevalent so their children are at minimal risk of contracting these diseases.
Next, it is about the concerns about the safety of vaccines. Most of these concerns are based on information these parents have discovered in the media or received from acquaintances. Regardless of whether the stories stem from television, the Internet, radio, or from family and friends, parents are constantly bombarded with other peoples' opinions about vaccinations. All of this information can be overwhelming for some parents to sift through, making it difficult for them to make their own well-informed decision. Many of the reports and opinions that bombard parents and cause uncertainty are targeted at the safety of vaccines. They raise doubts about both short-term adverse reactions and the possibility of long-lasting negative effects.
As conclusion, actually there are more reasons for this issue but for me these two is the most leading reasons of why parents refuse to let their children have vaccines. However, parents should have awareness about this issue before something bad happen.
