The Lies of Hollywood Movies
Everyone loves watching movies and same goes to me. We have been provided with many genres of movies. It's okay for me to say that at least we watch one movie a week or maybe more depends on ourself. We love to watch Hollywood movie because Hollywood produces great movies, but they don't always tell the truth even it based on "true stories"In my opinion I can say that I agree with the statement because of even a movie " based on true story" actually not true enough as maybe it just a gimmick to attract audience to watch it. As example the movie Rudy, Out of all the great football films we've seen over the years, Rudy is one of the most uplifting. It's also fast and loose with the truth. Remember that scene when the players place their jerseys on Coach Devine's desk to convince him to let Rudy play? And the crowd chanting his name? That never happened, and Joe Montana—who was on the team with Rudy—told sportscaster Dan Patrick that it didn't really go down that way. "It's a movie, remember," he cautioned. "Not all that's true. The crowd wasn't chanting, nobody threw in their jerseys. He did get in the game. He got carried off the game." So, we as the audience can conclude that actually the movie are not " based on true story" enough.Second, Hollywood movies just use lies as to make "easy money" because they know with the use of "based on true story", audience will excited and watch it many times.
However, I also want to say that I disagree with the statement because we can not simply expect when it said "based on true story"it have to be follow the whole plot of story because sometimes it maybe only just a base idea for the movie which mean they just use the concept not the whole plot of story. Second, the reason of why movie can not be true enough beccause of the respect for the sensitivity elements which mean the movie do not want to trigger anyone that maybe have relation to the issue or incident.
As conclusion, I think we can not simply make a conclusion that Hollywood movie don't always tell the truth even it based on "true stories"and we have to indentify first before make a conclusion. We have to respect the "colours" in the movies's plot.

Welcome To Critical Literacy
Now as a Semester 4 student of Diploma in English Communication, I will learn a new subject which is Critical Literacy. So as to start the journey with this subject, I try to ask comments from my seniors about this subject to get more explanation. As the result, majority of them are giving negative review that somehow suprised me. But, I think I can not depends on their opinion only because it maybe have bias. So for me, I try to do some research and from that I get a few thing as my hope and expectation toward this subject. Firstly, from the word Critical Literacy itself it give a quick definition that this subject will make me to think outside from the box and try to understand not just the definition but also the all aspects. Second, this subject will maybe can give me opportunity to train myself to be an active thinker.Third,I expect this subject will challenge me and I love challenge so much. As for hope, I want this subject be attractive so it can make me focus and I hope that this subject will be interesting
